Collection: Locks and Keys

While we may not be using these 50 years from now given the pace of technological change, keys and locks are something mundane we tend to take for granted....until we see them through our toddler’s eyes!

Of course the coolness of obvious when you think about it from their perspective - a special metal piece that if you put inside a little hole in the door just so, and make a turn, you can get that door open and you’re home. Leaving home we lock the door to keep our home safe. 

Naturally, kids see the keys as an important object and want it for themselves - or worse yet, use it as a negotiating tool. But often times they just want to practice handling the key, inserting it into the door or padlock, or pressing the button on the keyless remote for your car. They also just want to be like mommy or daddy. 

Keep them busy, feed their sense of independence, and let them practice their fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills all at once with toys that feature locks and keys.
